I’ve followed Jack White’s career since his time with The White Stripes, to The Dead Weather, The Raconteurs, and his solo career. I think we all go through music phases throughout our lives, proclaiming this is it, we found “our music.” I’ve done that more times than I can count. With Jack White, I mean it. It’s music that touches my soul and that passion has never wavered throughout the years.
The October show in 2012 is one of the most memorable nights of my life. It was only 2 weeks before I moved away from my home state of Oklahoma. I was surrounded by music, friends, love, and ready to embark on a new adventure. It was incredibly bittersweet because I was excited for Oregon, but already missing Oklahoma and the amazing Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa.
My first Jack White show in Oregon. It’s hard to believe it’s been 3 years. I’ve seen many amazing musicians since then – The Devil Makes Three stands out – but he’s still my favorite live performer.
New song released today! It seems like a mashup of what’s to come on the new album. Very rock, perfectly blues, really funky sound.
I look forward to seeing more shows in my area, which I hope, are on the horizon. Someday, I’d love to go back for a show at Cain’s. As the saying goes, there’s no place like home.
